Grand notions....

For all you cat lovers out there, I swear they are evil.

Well I had all these grand ideas on what all I wanted to update about this week, but damn it has just been a really really busy week. I stay slammed at work, and spanish homework is keeping me busy in the evenings.

Also having a boyfriend is keeping me busy... but I don't mind that at all. So I spend a lot less time on my computer, but that is a good thing in my book! hmmmm that is the first time I referred to him as a boyfriend. I am not very good at the whole label thing. I am not very good at the whole attachment thing. I mean ultimately I want to be attached, but I always find reasons to rip the guy apart (mentally) so I end up single quickly. I am comfortable around James. He makes me feel good about myself, and I enjoy and look forward to spending time with him. Where as most of the time I get excited about the first date or two and then it is just a hassel to take time away from schoolwork to date. Now I can't get my damned homework done fast enough! LOL. So there you have it. I am declaring him boyfriend status. It's official, straight from the horses mouth. And I am okay with that, I am more than okay with it, I am happy with it.

I don't like to rush into things, I am not into getting my heart crushed into a million little pieces again, or my trust betrayed, so I don't give either very easily. I want to be sure of things. I am not saying that I am sure of things with James, he is still earing my trust, and my heart. I am not one of those people that gets all crazy attached in a month. But for the first time in a very long time, I do not make up excuses for why I cannot hang out.

I don't know, relationships to me are comparible to buying a house. You would not just buy the first house you toured. You spend a lot of time and energy looking for the right house, because it is something you are going to call home, something you have to be comfortable living in, and it is a big expenditure. Relationships I think are even more complicated because a house just costs money, and you can always earn more money, but with relationships your heart is on the line, and that can take a lifetime to heal.

OKAY - in other news... I found out that it will take me one semester longer than I had estimated to graduate, but that is because I am earning two degrees instead of one. I had not realized that I was going to need so many Crim classes. But that is okay. I really like school.

Work - has just been hectic lately. I had my first investigation all on my own the other day. Only because all of the officers were busy and we had 4 other calls holding. I took a missing persons report, and followed all of the leads possible, and entered the report in the computer. It was pretty cool.

I saw an old friend of mine today, she got married a while back, and is now having a child. She is one of those people that have an incredibly tiny frame, and at 5 months, the only thing that has grown at all is her belly! :) It is too cute.

So to be fitting for today's post, and becuase I think it is what every heart yearns for.

It's sounding good with James, he must be a sweetheart. It's ok to take your time, and enjoy yourself together, things will just "happen"
So now we know his status is "boyfriend" ;)
Wow that is so interesting about the investigation related work! IT takes alot i'm sure. And you took a missing persons call! Goodness, your job sounds great.

Yes I liked pac man, and the girl one, I did the dork thing in the 80's too. :D

Ok cats are very evil, my cat turns into a monster and steps on me when I try to sleep, jumps on me and tries to lick me.

I'm glad that your happy with the status of you and James and the whole analogy of buying a house to a relationship is just brilliant, really its the truth.I love pacman, I didn't know they had actual names.

Ah, now pac man brings back the memories. For me, it's more Ms. Pacman, though. I used to play that game with my dad when I was young. I love the 80s. I can't say why except that it coincided with my childhood, so perhaps I'm a bit sentimental.

Well boyfriend sounds pretty great. Your entry really reminds me of the talk I and two of my best friends had last night.
One of them is liking this guy, but she's really afraid of opening up to him and letting him in her heart, because her father and ex-boyfriend have died (she's 16) and she's so afraid of getting attached to this guy and losing him.

But I'm really proud of you being supersmart and really liking school.
